Candidates Under Review: Closing the Information Gap
Over half of the candidates running in competitive 2026 midterms currently carry an UNCLEAR rating. Despite billions of dollars in hyperscale infrastructure investment and mounting pressure on local electrical grids, water aquifers, and municipal zoning boards, hundreds of federal and state candidates have avoided taking a clear, on-the-record public stand on AI data centers.
This page tracks every candidate whose position is still undocumented, sorted with the most competitive Toss-up battlegrounds at the top. You can help close this transparency gap in two direct ways:
1. Submit Local Reporting or Campaign Statements
If a candidate spoke at a county town hall, answered a local newspaper questionnaire, weighed in on a municipal zoning dispute, or posted a video statement that we haven't logged yet, submit the verified link or document here.
2. Ask the Candidates Directly to Go on the Record
Campaigns pay close attention when constituents ask specific policy questions. Reach out to these candidates via their official campaign email, call their district or campaign office, ask them in person at a town hall, or tag them publicly on X, Bluesky, or Facebook. Ask them plainly:
"Where do you stand on AI data center construction in our state and district—do you support expanding hyperscale data centers, or do you support local moratoriums and strict limits on development?"
When a campaign replies by email or posts a public response, send a screenshot or link to our Submit Data page so we can update their profile immediately.
