Position on Hyperscale Data Centers
- Christopher A. Coons has historically championed domestic AI technological competitiveness and co-introduced the bipartisan Liquid Cooling for AI Act, but drew a hard line against data center projects burdening local residents: “We don’t want one in Delaware if it’s gonna raise people’s electric rates, water rates, and pollute” (Delaware Senate Candidate Forum).
- Demands that any future data center development in Delaware include strict, enforceable guardrails ensuring tech companies pay their full share of electrical grid upgrades and protect local water supplies from industrial depletion.
